Questions, answered
What is co-employment?

Co-employment is the shared-employer arrangement behind temp staffing: we own the payroll, tax and compliance duties while you control the actual work. Both sides carry anti-discrimination obligations, so a compliant agency protects you.

How does temp staffing work?

We take your brief, match a pre-screened candidate and put them to work on your timeline. Scout Finders runs payroll, taxes and workers' comp as the W-2 employer; you supervise the assignment and can hire the worker permanently whenever you're ready.

Who is responsible for workers' compensation?

For workers we place on temp assignments, we hold the workers' comp policy and manage any claims — your business doesn't carry that coverage for them. (Every state requires workers' comp except Texas, where we carry it anyway.)

How do you vet candidates?

Each candidate is assessed for skills, reference-checked and run through I-9/E-Verify. For licensed or sensitive roles we add background checks and verify credentials directly with the issuing board or authority.

Do you need a license to run a staffing agency in Colorado?

For direct-hire and permanent placements, Scout Finders recruits and vets only — your business employs the candidate, so there is no co-employment and no license claim. We lead with ASA membership and structured candidate vetting (skills, references, work authorization). Colorado has no staffing-agency licensing scheme. As the W-2 employer of record for temp and contract staff, Scout Finders operates under federal labor law (co-employment, ACA, EEOC, I-9/E-Verify); we carry workers' compensation.
